Meet sophie
Hi, I’m Sophie, the proud owner of Bark Avenue Grooming!
With over 9 years of experience in the animal industry and 6 years dedicated specifically to grooming, I’ve built my career around a deep love and respect for animals. Grooming isn’t just a job for me, it’s a passion. I specialise in curly coated breeds and giant dogs, and nothing makes me happier than helping these amazing pups look and feel their best. Whether it’s the fluff and finesse of a Poodle or the majestic presence of a Leonberger, but a big lover of all dogs, no matter what shape and size. I bring patience, skill and care to every grooming session.
Outside the grooming studio, I find joy in life’s simple pleasures. the comforting aroma of freshly baked muffins and brownies, the peaceful rhythm of a woodland walk, or the focused calm of a knitting project. When I’m not baking, sketching, or exploring nature trails, I’m usually accompanied by my two beloved border collies: Darwin, 13, and Alaska, 7. Their loyalty, intelligence, and character have been a constant source of inspiration and are the reason I chose a career working with dogs. They remain the heart of my journey and the greatest joys of my life.

Meet katie
Hi! I’m Katie.
I’m a Level 3 qualified dog groomer with over 4 years of grooming experience. My background includes a University degree studying Forensic Psychology and Criminal Justice, but after spending some time in the corporate world, I realized it just wasn’t for me. I chose to follow my heart and my lifelong love for dogs and I haven’t looked back since.
I’ve also spent over four years working with both dogs and horses, deepening my skills and passion for animal care. At home, I share life with my sweet 2 -year-old Bernese Mountain Dog, Badger, and a few axolotls who always keep things interesting.
My favorite dogs to groom are giant breeds and terriers they’ve got so much personality! Outside of work I enjoy cooking, playing video games and watching horror movies.
My goal is to one day become a teacher and inspire the next generation of groomers with the same passion and care I bring to every pet.
Hi, I'm Kaitlyn!
I'm Level 3 qualified in Animal Welfare and Management, with over 5 experience as a professional dog groomer and 7 years working within the animal industry. From a young age, I've always known I wanted a career working with animals, and I feel incredibly lucky to do something I'm so passionate about every day.
When I'm not in the salon, you'll usually find me running, hiking (especially in the beautiful Scottish Highlands), or getting lost in a good book. At home, life is always busy with my four dogs; a Staffordshire Bull Terrier, a Shih Tzu, and two Chihuahuas: Buddy, Romeo, Dobby, and Indie. They all have their own unique personalities and keep me thoroughly entertained!
I may be a little biased, but my favourite dogs to groom are Shih Tzus. Their cheeky characters, endless sass, and wonderfully varied personalities mean every groom is different, making them such a joy to work with.
I'm always looking to develop my grooming skills further, with a particular passion for Asian Fusion and Teddy Bear styling. My goal is to continue refining my techniques while providing every dog that comes through the salon doors with the highest standard of care and a groom tailored to suit them perfectly.
